Under the Eurasian Patent Convention one Eurasian patent on invention is in force in several former Soviet Union Contracting States including Armenia (AM), Azerbaijan (AZ), Belarusia (BY), Kyrgyzia (KG), Kazakstan (KZ), Moldova (MD), Russia (RU), Tajikistan (TJ),Turkmenia (TM).

Russian Patents on Inventions

The term of a Russian invention patent shall be 20 years from the filing date. The term may be extended up to 5 additional years for an invention patent for a medication, a pesticide or agrochemical, when it is necessary to get an official permission.

Patents Maintenance & Restoration
|

The patent shall lapse prematurely in the event of failure to pay, within the prescribed time limit, the fee for maintenance of the patent in force. Since 2003 the patent rights, terminated early in connection with the failure to pay the maintenance fee, can be restored.
